Letter from Our President:
Dear colleague:

As the current President of the Catholic Physicians Guild of Phoenix, I invite you to take a closer look at our organization.

We Valley of the Sun physicians, dentists, other health care professionals, and associate members come together as a chartered Guild of the Catholic Medical Association. We are dedicated to upholding the principles of the Catholic faith in the Science and Practice of Medicine. For information about upcoming meetings and guild activities, please click on the Home page.

You are welcome to attend any of our educational/social meetings and experience the fellowship, knowledge, support and prayer of like-minded healthcare professionals faithful to the Magisterium of the Catholic Church. We are under the approval of Bishop Thomas J. Olmsted. Our chaplain is the Rev. Ignatius Mazanowski, FFHS.

We welcome your joining our Guild. Our dues policy is currently under revision. Membership in the Catholic Medical Association at www.cathmed.org is strongly encouraged.

Cordially,
James Asher, DO

As Catholic Physicians of the Diocese of Phoenix, we come together as a Chartered Guild of the Catholic Medical Association in order to grow in our understanding of the moral and ethical principles of our Catholic Faith.

We seek to engage and live our call to holiness, to grow in our love of God, and to support one another as faithful Catholics. We desire also to assist the Bishop and the whole Catholic Community with leadership, especially with the particular knowledge, skill, and experience we have as Catholic health professional.

All activities of the Guild are conducted in accordance with and in submission to the teaching authority of the Magisterium of the Catholic Church.

Purpose:
The Phoenix Guild’s purpose is congruent with the Catholic Medical Association and is:

To uphold the principles of Catholic faith and morality as related to the science and practice of medicine.
To cooperate in leading the Christian community, especially with the particular medical expertise and experience of the Catholic physicians, to understand, develop, and apply Christ’s principles of faith and morality to modern medical science and practice.
To lead the Christian community in the work of communicating Catholic medical ethics to the medical profession and the community-at-large.
To uphold Catholic hospitals in the application of Catholic moral principles in medical practice.
To provide faith and conscience formation as it relates to the practice of Medicine.
To offer educational programs that support spiritual growth and moral leadership.
To provide a venue for Catholic physicians and allied health professionals fellowship.
To support each other in maintaining core Catholic values in our daily professional lives.
